What to get to get started with your home online classes: 1 mat, 3 or 4 Mexican Blankets, 2 blocks, 1 strap, 1 bolster, 1 chair. I n order of importance I would say mat/blankets/blocks; if you practice inverted postures regularly: blankets are a must. If you like restorative postures, a bolster ;-)) Email me if you unsure. (I have used the sites below at occasion, when IYISF reopens they have great props there).

Yoga Chairs: There are expensive on yoga sites, there are metal folding chairs in restaurant sites more affordable, they have a bar between the feet at the front which ideally you don’t have but I have one like that, and it is not bad: HERE

I have scheduled online classes for the next few days and I will keep adding, go to: Anne B Online for details. I will have live streaming classes as well at IYISF very soon. Check the IYISF Site

I use Zoom, it is helpful to become familiar with it before joining the class (not mandatory to download the free app but recommended since most teachers and studios use it): ZOOM

And last, if you don’t have any yoga props, it might be a good time to get few: a mat, 2 blocks, few blankets for Sarvangasana (3 minimum). Online classes are fantastic for us to stay in touch during this challenging time BUT you need to practice safely (if you need props at the studio, you do also in your home!). Until you get what you need, have a chair, a table close by, towels, old tie for a strap, cushions…these are your home props!

As most of you know already most of the studios I teach at are closed until the end of the month and possibly til longer. It is important we stay healthy and reduce stress during this trying time. I am setting up online classes and hopefully they will be up ASAP this week. Stay posted. (PS: I am not on Facebook any longer to avoid the bombarding of non accurate information BUT I do want to stay in touch with you, email is the best: anne@annebyoga.com)

While doing the postures, your mind should be in half-consciousness, which does not mean sleep. It means silence, emptiness, space, which can then be filled with an acute awareness of the sensations given by the posture. You watch yourself from inside. It is a full silence.
